On August 29, 2023, Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in California due to the impact of fires in Smith River Complex and Happy Camp Complex. As a result, Department of Health Care Services will allow member and provider processing exceptions to expedite the replacement of removable dental appliances for those impacted by the fires in Del Norte and Siskiyou counties.
